Almus wins Best Brand Identity award
Almus Pharmaceuticals wins Best Brand Identity at The Design Effectiveness Awards, in London. Europe's premier design awards are the initiative of the DBA (Design Business Association) and are awarded to outstanding examples of commercially successful design. The Design Effectiveness Awards took place at The National Maritime Museum, London on Wednesday 22nd September, and reflect every major design discipline, such as packaging, retail, website and product design.
"Winning Best Brand Identity at a Design Effectiveness Awards is a spectacular endorsement of the ingenuity of the Almus design concept. The use of design has been instrumental to the success of the Almus range, conceived in such a way as to maximise the safe use of generic medicines both in the dispensary and in the home. We are very excited at winning this award and are committed to remaining at the forefront of future developments for patient safety design," said Tony Foreman, Chief Executive of Almus Pharmaceuticals.
Almus Pharmaceuticals has developed a range of generic medicines in packaging which uses colour to distinguish product and strength. The range was developed in response to a recognized need within both the dispensary and the home to reduce the medication error risk for patient.
The UK Dispensing Error Analysis Scheme reports that 33% of medication errors are linked to look alike / sound alike drug names, 23% to high workload or low staffing and 14% to transcription errors. With over 120 products in the Almus portfolio, the Almus range of generic medicines presents an outstanding opportunity for pharmacists to improve their patient's safety.
